Mmmmm... Chocolate Models

Thursday, May 17, 2012

You read that correctly, the above photo is a chocolate model with a photoshopped sky. Obviously a chocolate model wouldn't last very long in the hot Central American sun. Anyway, what you are looking at isn't merely a small, yummy piece of chocolate with a sunny backdrop. It is, in fact,  an 18,239 pound yummy piece of chocolate with a sunny back drop.
The model, made by top chef Francois Mellet and M.O.F. Stephane Treand, was commissioned by Qzina Specialty Foods to celebrate their 30th anniversary. The model is a new world record, beating the last record by almost 11,000 pounds.
Check out architizer to read more about this chocolate master piece.
Let's hope the Mayan calendar is wrong. It may take a bit longer than seven months to eat this monstrosity. Be sure to check out all of the delicious details in the photos!
